PIERRE, SD – Mildred Marie Huehl Urquhart, 103 of Pierre, SD, went to be with Jesus on November 25, 2024.
She was born on September 12, 1921 to Lewis and Katie (Bauman) Huehl in Draper, SD. Mildred attended school at the North Star School in Jones County, graduating from Pierre High School in 1939. Mildred married Roger Urquhart on December 17, 1939 in Pierre, SD.
Mildred worked for the state of South Dakota from 1960 to 1976 and again in 1980 retiring in 1982. Mildred volunteered at Rivercrest Nursing Home from 1982 to 1998. Mildred led Bible Studies at several Nursing Homes and played piano at The Senior Center. In 1995 she was awarded Adult Volunteer of the Year by South Dakota Health Care Assoc. in Sioux Falls, SD.
Mildred was a member of the Open Bible Church in Pierre since 1938 where she was a pianist and Sunday School teacher. Later becoming a member of City Baptist Church. Mildred loved music, her church work, gardening, and helping others.
Mildred is survived by her children; son, Dallas (Betty) Griswold, Iowa; daughter, Sherrie Miles, Groves, Texas; son, Randy,
Pierre; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger; her sons, Grant and Ross; sisters, Opal, Ruth, and her brother, Raymond.
Visitation will be from 10am-11am with a funeral service at 11am on Friday. November 29, 2024 at Feigum Funeral Home in Pierre, SD.
Burial will be in Scotty Phillip Cemetery at Ft Pierre, SD.
