A doctor from Pierre has recently published his sixth book and he’ll be signing copies this weekend (Dec. 7, 2024) during the Oahe Winter Festival.
Dr. Ken Bartholomew says “Gunpowder for the General” is historical fiction.
Bartholomew says his book centers around a group of four young society “outsiders” who know how to make gunpowder during the Battle of Monmouth Court House.
Bartholomew calls the gunpowder shortage during the Revolutionary War “one of George Washington’s best kept secrets.”
Bartholomew will be selling and signing copies of “Gunpowder for the General” tomorrow from 10am-2pm at the South Dakota Popcorn store on Pierre Street.
The book can also be purchased from the Amazon, Book Baby or Kindle websites.
