The Sully Buttes Chargers got their second win of the season to get back to even .500 with a 51-43 victory over Herreid/Selby Area Friday night. This game was incredibly tight with the Chargers only leading by one at halftime. But a strong third quarter scoring 13 was enough to help propel them to the win.
Payge Bakker lead both teams in scoring with 19, going 9/16 from the free throw line. But what may have been even more impressive about her performance was she matched that with 19 rebounds.
Jordan Rossow and Terryn Hettick played great for the Lions, each scoring 14 and 12 of Hettick’s coming from beyond the arc. However, the Chargers also got a big boost from Scotlynn Kinney and Annaliese Van Zee’s 8 points as well as Olivia Olson’s 9 to halt any Lions comebacks.
