Karlee Fast Wolf, 30, of Eagle Butte, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at her home in Eagle Butte.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. MST, Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the CRST Bingo Hall, Eagle Butte. Burial will follow in the Eagle Butte Cemetery. Wake services will be 6:00 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2025, at the bingo hall with a procession from the 4-mile at 4:00 p.m.
Karlee Fast Wolf was born March 14, 1994, in Eagle Butte, SD to Lori Ann Garreaux and Alvin D. Fast Wolf. Since birth, Karlee was such a happy, bubbly girl. Always smiling and laughing. She was so kind and caring, making sure everyone around her was ok.
Karlee loved animals, especially “strays”. She once brought home a puppy she had hidden in her jacket. She was so happy, then all of sudden, another puppy’s head popped out, then another. She swore she didn’t know where the other two came from! In the end, she was able to keep all three.
Karlee’s aunts Billie Rose, Connie, and Shelly, and her uncle, Wayne were a big part of her life as she was growing up.
Karlee attended Cheyenne Eagle Butte schools, graduating in May of 2012 with honors (Summa Cum Laude). She was also inducted into the National Honor Society. While attending school, Karlee was involved in many different activities, including the Missoula Children’s Theatre, The Glitter Girls, high school basketball cheerleader, and varsity basketball. The one thing Karlee loved most was art. She was an artist at heart. Karlee would go on to create the most beautiful pieces of artwork and received many awards for her illustrations. She started competing in numerous art competitions and always placed among the highest exploits.
Karlee was also a very intelligent person; in her high school years she attended the Gear Up Program every summer. Her summers were spent at Upward Bound in Spearfish, SD. After high school, Karlee went to United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck, ND, where she graduated with an A.A. in fine arts and arts marketing, graphic design, with this being one of her greatest accomplishments. Following graduation, Karlee returned to Eagle Butte. She was a very hard worker and held jobs at Lakota Thrift Mart, Taco John’s, Human Resources, Property and Supply as well as security for the border patrol during the pandemic.
Karlee loved being a mother to her children. In 2018, she was blessed with a daughter, Eden Reign and soon after in 2021 a second daughter, William O. Garreaux Fast Wolf. Naming her after her grandfather. In 2022, Karlee welcomed her third daughter, Everlee Courtney. She loved her girls; they were the world to her.
If she wasn’t spending time with her girls, one could find her hanging out with her friends or cousins she loved them all very much. Always smiling and acting goofy around them.
Karlee is survived by her daughters: Eden Reign, William Orrie Garreaux, and Everlee Courtney; mother, Lori Ann Garreaux; sisters: Dawnelle Garreaux and Angel Fast Wolf; brother, Tali Fast Wolf; nieces: Shi Ann Garreaux, K’lea Garreaux, and Logan Lawrence; nephews: Blake S, and Taycen and Casdyn Peniska; aunts: Delores High Pine, Billie Garreaux, Connie Garreaux, Carla Trujillio, Judy Brown, and Ernestine Blue Arm; uncles: Wayne Fast Wolf, Justin Garreaux, Justin Janis, and Shane Brown; along with many cousins, uncles, aunties, and grandparents.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin D. Fast Wolf; maternal grandparents, William and Eva Garreaux; paternal grandparents, Alvin D. Fast Wolf Sr. and Andrea Janis; aunt, Shelly Garreaux Thompson; along with numerous relatives awaiting her arrival in heaven.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Karlee’s arrangements.
