The Stanley County Buffs got the Jones County 57th Annual Invitational kicked off with a 71-42 win over Bennett County in one of four games on the slate yesterday. The Buffs were itching to get this tournament kicked off as they came out blazing to an 8-0 lead in the first quarter. Bennett Co. was able to dig their heals in and cut into the deficit, but good shooting by the Buffs got them out to a 10-point, 34-24 halftime lead. Stanley County was just getting started as the second half was a barrage of threes from all over the place, hitting four in the third quarter to extend their lead to 26. The most impressive stat to this point in the game was Eddie Duffy’s line, as he scored 25-points through three quarters alone.
The Buffs would finish with three players in double-digits, Eddie Duffy scoring 28 with five-threes, Paxton Deal had 18 and Kaden Montana with 14. For Bennett County, Caysen Soderlin finished with 12 and Rush O’Neill had 11. Stanley County will play the winner of Crazy Horse and Philip today at 6:30 PM, Bennett County will play the loser today at 1:00 PM.
