April 21, 2025:
Through its Spirit Card program, American Bank & Trust has donated more than $6100 ($6,109) to the Pierre School District and more than $2300 ($2,382) to the Stanley County School District this year.
The schools will use the donated funds to help purchase adaptive kitchen equipment, books, microscopes, calculators, materials for shop class, storage organizers, caps and gowns for kindergarten graduation, STEM bins for playtime and more.
Since 2012, American Bank & Trust has contributed $37,821 to the Pierre School District and $14,496 to Stanley County School District through the Spirit Card program. Past donations have funded essential items such as a rock-climbing wall, wobble seats, banners and food display items for the lunchroom, transit bus tickets, swings for students with disabilities and much more.
AB&T Spirit Cards feature the participating school district’s name, colors and mascot and are linked directly to the bank customer’s checking account. Every time an account holder makes a purchase with their Spirit Card, AB&T donates a portion back to the designated school.
Currently, AB&T offers Spirit Cards for 20 school districts, including the Huron Tigers, Wessington Springs Spartans, Miller Rustlers, De Smet Bulldogs, Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds, Northwestern Wildcats, Pierre Governors, Stanley County Buffaloes, Iroquois-Lake Preston Sharks, Howard Tigers, James Valley Christian Vikings, Corsica-Stickney Jaguars, Watertown Arrows, Worthington Trojans, Aberdeen Golden Eagles, Aberdeen Christian Knights, Aberdeen Roncalli Cavaliers, Lennox Orioles, Lisbon Broncos, and the Tea Area Titans.
March 18, 2025:
The Stanley County School has been awarded over $2,300 in grants from the American Bank & Trust “Spirit Card” program. These funds have been allocated to support various educational initiatives and programs.
