What a great day to be a Buffalo! Mammoth Construction and the Stanley County Booster Club along with a few teachers, coaches & administrators dug shovels in the ground at the former 50-yard line of Ole Williamson Field to break ground on their new track & field complex along with the new turf football field. The mood was one of pure joy and excitement amongst the crowd who was there to celebrate, as the entire Fort Pierre community continues to see advancements and improvements to Buffaloes sports facilities. The Buffs also had their basketball court renovated last year.
SC Booster Club, Mammoth and SC administrators break ground
The new facility will feature a new 8-lane track, new bleachers and press box on the west side of the field as opposed to its former home on the east side. It will also see a state of the art turf field installed as well as a new concession stand next to the new seating area. The construction team hopes to have the project complete by late August before the Buffs first home football game of the 2025 season. Below are the renderings for the upcoming project:
