The golf season is officially back in full swing, and teams across the state competed at Fox Run Golf Course in the Southeast SD Small School tournament today.
In the girl’s field, Jadyn McDonald of Chester closed with a birdie and shot a 10-over 82 to secure first place three strokes ahead of sole second place held by Olivia Bull of Burke who shot 85. Beresford won the team competition comfortably with a combined +61. Chester and Scotland/Menno finished 2nd and 3rd neck-and-neck with a team score of +77 and +81.
On the boys side, Ben Wilber of Hanson finished first at +1 shooting an impressive 73. Grant Endahl from Baltic finished solo second after shooting a +4 76. There was a three-way tie for third with Gavin Colson from Sully Buttes, Carter Vogel of Chester and Thomas Kuecker of Webster Area all finishing +5. Hanson took home the team win combining for +18, and finishing five strokes ahead of Webster Area.
