PIERRE, S.D. — Community members and business owners are invited to attend the upcoming Capital City Workshop: Tourism’s Economic Impact, a collaborative session focused on the important role tourism plays in strengthening the Pierre–Fort Pierre area economy and supporting local businesses.
The workshop will take place Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 3:00–4:30 p.m. at the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce Community Room (800 W. Dakota Avenue, Pierre). It is presented through a regional partnership with Visit Pierre, the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce, Visit Fort Pierre, and the Fort Pierre Chamber of Commerce.
The session will feature Kirk Hulstein and Ciara Forest of Travel South Dakota, who will share insights on 2025 tourism statistics, the Forever 605 campaign, and additional 2026 statewide tourism marketing efforts.
Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of how visitor activity supports the local economy and how they can support statewide and local tourism efforts. The workshop is free and open to the public.
