The Twins went on the road to Atlanta in hopes of taking a series from a Braves team that had yet to find their footing in 2025. Minnesota was coming off a series win against another NL East team in the NY Mets, and had hopes of wrapping up a quick road trip with a similar outcome versus Atlanta. But it seems the Twins left the bats at Target Field as they struggled to score runs in front of three sold out Atlanta crowds from Friday-Sunday.
Game 1 started great for Minnesota as they carried a 4-1 lead into the bottom of the 8th before giving up 5 runs and losing 6-4 setting the tone for the series. Game 2 had a similar feel, the Twins giving up a two-run lead in the bottom of the 6th to go on and lose 4-3. Easter Sunday felt like the Twins were ready to get home as they fell behind 5-0 early and could never scratch back in front losing 6-2 and falling to 7-15 on the season (3-10 on the road).
Minnesota will happily come home to take on another struggling ballclub in the Chicago White Sox who sit at 5-16 on the year. Minnesota got their first (and second) wins of the season against the White Sox earlier this year which delivered a bit of a spark, and the Twins hope to find that same energy tomorrow night when they kick off a three-game series at 6:40 PM CT.
