The Lakers must have felt like last night was a must-win, not wanting to go back to Minnesota trailing 0-2 in the series. LA came out and dominated from the tip, taking a 34-15 lead into the second quarter. After that opening quarter, the Timberwolves got their feet under them, but the lead built by the Lakers was too big to surmount. Minnesota made a push towards the end of the game, outscoring LA 20-13 in the fourth, but the Lakers were essentially in cruise-mode at this point and would go on to even up the series 1-1 with a 94-85 win in Game 2.
Julius Randle and Anthony Edwards carried the load for Minnesota scoring-wise, Randle with 27 and Edwards with 25. Luka Doncic led both teams in scoring with 31, LeBron James also having a nice night with 21-points of his own.
The series now heads back to Minnesota for Game 3 on Friday night, tip-off scheduled for 8:30 PM CT on ESPN.
