South Dakota brand renewal deadline is today

Livestock brand owners in South Dakota who need to renew their brand registration have until the end of the day Thursday (May 1, 2025) to turn in their paperwork

The renewal fee is $90 per brand. Brand registration information and payments can be either:

• submitted online at brands.sd.gov
• mailed to the South Dakota Brand Board at 209 W Dakota Avenue, Pierre, SD, 57501. Renewals that are mailed must be postmarked by May 1, 2025.

Brand registrations must be renewed every five years– in years ending in 0 and 5. There are currently 28,246 registered brands in South Dakota.
