Both Governor softball and baseball are headed into a pivotal Friday and Saturday stretch of the season against some tough opponents. Between Govs softball and baseball, the two teams will play a combined eight games in just two days. Govs softball will be in Sioux Falls today to makeup an earlier rainout against a 4-3 Brookings team, then followed by a matchup with the second place Dakota Valley Panthers. Saturday, they will see Yankton and Watertown in a morning/afternoon split. The Govs lost to both schools earlier this year by thin margins, so they hope to even up the season series with them before coming back home.
Govs baseball sitting 9-4 on the season, heads back on the road after picking up two huge wins against Huron earlier this week. Tonight, they will face off with a 9-8 Brookings team with game one beginning at 5 PM and the second game to follow. No rest for the weary as the Govs will have yet another doubleheader tomorrow, but it will be on their home diamond against a 7-6 Brandon Valley team. Game one tomorrow begins at 2 PM with the second to follow.
