The Twins completed a short road-trip on Sunday afternoon with a win over the Red Sox, bringing their season record to 15-20 and leaving them seven games out of first place and sitting in 4th place. The Twins should carry some momentum out of this series since the Red Sox are battling it out with the Yankees for first place, Minnesota knows they can win a series against a contender on the road. Byron Buxton went deep in the first to give the Twins a short-lived lead, but the Red Sox would answer with three of their own. The Twins were trailing 3-1 for most of the game before their bats woke up in the top of the seventh when Ryan Jeffers singled to bring in two runs. In the eighth inning, Harrison Bader would plate two and give the Twins some insurance runs that came in handy when the Red Sox tried to make a comeback but could only score one. The Twins get the win in the game and the series, making for a happy flight home.
The Twins are off tonight but back in action tomorrow hosting the Baltimore Orioles in game one of a three game series, first pitch tomorrow is set for 6:40 PM CT and you can listen on KGFX 1060 AM or on 103.1 FM in the Pierre area.
