Buxton & Bader (no, not a law firm out of Houston Texas) delivered all five of the Twins runs in their 5-2 victory over the Orioles last night continuing the deep-ball trend the Twins have come accustomed to here in the first quarter of the season. The Twins got yet another win last night thanks to the Byron Buxton three-run homer in the third inning and the Harrison Bader two-run homer in the seventh. Pair that with some more great work from the Twins starting rotation and you’ve got a winning recipe.
Simeon Woods-Richardson went 4.2 IP on the bump, allowing only five hits and two earned runs which was all the Twins bats needed to secure the series victory. Danny Coulombe got his first win for the books while Jhoan Duran got his fifth save of the season
This makes four in a row for the Twins who now sit at 17-20 on the year and continue to try and chip away at the 6.5 game deficit in the AL Central. The Twins won the series, but they have their eyes set on the sweep today and will look to get it at 12:10 PM CT with Bailey Ober on the bump. Joe Ryan was today’s slated starter but was scratched due to an illness. Listen to today’s game on KGFX 1060 AM or on 103.1 FM in the Pierre area.
