Make it five in a row for the Minnesota Twins as they completed the three game sweep of the Baltimore Orioles in an early afternoon win today. The Twins wasted no time getting on the board today thanks to a first inning base hit by Ty France that would score Byron Buxton and give Minnesota the early lead. Baltimore would answer in the second inning with a run , but Bailey Ober was able to get out of the jam and keep things close. Trailing 2-1 in the sixth inning, Trevor Larnach went deep to tie things up at two apiece, and then in the bottom of the eighth Minnesota would hang three more and keep the winning-streak alive. Brooks Lee had the big hit in the eighth that would score two, Ty France added a little insurance on top as well.
Ober went 5.0 IP on a surprise start after Joe Ryan was scratched due to an illness, and Griffin Jax struck out two in the ninth to earn the win for Minnesota. The Twins now sit two games below .500 at 18-20 and look ahead to another three-game series with the San Francisco Giants (24-14) which begins tomorrow night. You can listen to tomorrow’s game at 7:10 PM CT, and all Twins games on KGFx 1060 AM or on 103.1 FM in the Pierre area.
