It was a rainy day in Brookings for the Jacks as they hosted Oral Roberts in the second to last game of the regular season. Even with the poor conditions, both teams brought plenty of offense to keep the folks who were weathering the storms.
Trailing 3-0 in the bottom of the second, Dagen Schramm hit a two-run bomb to bring SDSU within one, but this would only be the start of a wild game. Oral Roberts would score another to make it 4-2, but would strand runners on second and third to end the inning.
In the third, Adam Bennis would give the Jacks the lead with a grand slam, putting them up 3 runs. Then, in the fourth, the Jacks would take advantage of poor defense and played small-ball to blow it open and get out to a 10-4 lead. Or so they thought.
Oral Roberts would chip away at the Jacks lead, almost taking it back with a grand slam of their own before Brady Brown robbed it at the fence. But Oral Roberts would stay the course and ultimately come all the way back to go on and win 13-11.
Tomorrow will close out the regular season for SDSU against the Golden Eagles at 1 PM.
