Codi Sage Jewett Iron Road, 34, of Rapid City, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Ava’s House, Sioux Falls.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. MDT, Monday, August 25, 2025, at the Oyate Community Center, 2430 Gnugnuska Dr., Rapid City, SD 57701. Burial will follow in Emmanual Episcopal Cemetery, White Horse. A wake will be 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the community center in Rapid City with visitation starting at 5:00 p.m.
Codi Sage was born in Bismarck, North Dakota and raised around family who loved her beyond words can express. She was grandpa’s girl, always around him as a little girl. Eventually Codi moved to Rapid City, where she met many friends along the way. She had a huge kind heart for all ages of her loved ones. Her children were the best part of her: Dararian (Narianz), Iris (BooBoo), and KhalylaLynn (Zaya). She loved her nieces and nephews and treated them all with love of her children.
Codi is survived by her mother, Gwendolyn Jewett; stepdad, Gregory Black Elk; grandma, Toni Laplante; children, Iris and Danarian O’John; siblings: Manueleta Jewett, Precious Black Elk, Cassandra Black Elk, Samantha Iron Road, Bobby Buckman, William Many Wounds, and Daniel Iron Road III; nieces: Klover and Camellia Janis, Emmaria and Deleyza Black Elk, Arayah, Malayah, and Clara Many Wounds; nephews: Kastyn, Kyrihn, and Kadrian Iron Road, Elijah, Deandre, and Clinton Many Wounds and Kooleo Janis; aunties: Theresa Jewett McCann and Marvella Jewett; uncle, Kermit Swan; and 25 first cousins.
She was preceded in death by father, Daniel Iron Road Jr; daughter, KhalylaLynn; sisters: Angel and TeriLynn Jewett; grandparents: Lyle Jewett, Eunice Victoria Hairy Chin, and Daniel Iron Road Sr; auntie, Georgette Iron Road; uncles: Kenneth, Richard, and Lionel Jewett; nieces: Axelle Buckman and Star Light Black Elk; and cousins: Tashina White Bull, Delano Jewett, and Manuel John Jewett.
