The boys live to fight another day. Facing elimination, Sioux Falls little league representing South Dakota in the Little League World Series dominated their third game of the tournament winning 9-0 over Washington. It was another dazzling start by Maxen Snoozy who somehow one-upped his 11-strikeout performance a few days ago by striking out 10-straight batters in the rout, and sitting down 14 total via strikeout. To string together 10 K’s in a row is almost unheard of, but to do it on the biggest stage you can play on as a little leaguer, that’s the stuff legends are made of.
After a 13-1 loss to Connecticut in their game the day before, there was curiosity around how Sioux Falls would respond. The score of that game a day prior was a bit misleading on how close the game actually was, SD was neck-and-neck with Connecticut virtually the entire game until the final frame when Connecticut went nuclear scoring double-digit runs. South Dakota ended all speculation scoring their nine runs on just seven hits, holding Bonney Lake Washington to just two hits and a scoreless offensive performance.
Sioux Falls will now face Irmo South Carolina tonight at 6:00 PM CT on ESPN as both teams face a win or go home scenario.
