PIERRE, SD – Warren “Crow” Harford, 79 of Pierre, SD died Monday, September 8, 2025 at Avera Maryhouse in Pierre.
Memorial service will be 10:30am on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Isburg Funeral Chapel in Pierre. Visitation will be for one-half hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Pierre, SD.
Warren Wendle Harford was born on August 1st, 1946 in Miller, SD to Cecil and Freda (Fowler) Harford. He was the second child and oldest son born to Cecil and Freda.
Crow attended school in Redfield, SD until he joined a harvest crew that took him to Kansas. He then returned to Redfield and worked for Hansen Motor Company.
In 1974 he was in a motorcycle accident and he came to Pierre to recover at his parent’s home. While living in Pierre he went on a blind date with Kathy (Chief) Marso. They were married on June 14th, 1975, Flag Day. Anytime flags were flying he would wish Kathy a Happy Anniversary!!
Crow proudly served his country for 10 years in the National Guard. During his time with the Guards, he spent a month in Rapid City helping on the flood recovery.
Crow started Crow’s Auto Repair in 1980 and operated his business for 15 years. After this he was employed by St. Mary’s Hospital in the maintenance department. He retired after 25 years of service to the hospital.
Crow enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and naps, or as he called it, recliner riding.
Those grateful for sharing Crow’s life are his wife of 50 years, Kathy, sister Barb Blaedorn, brother Jerry-Boog’s (Denise) Harford, brothers-in-law Paul (Dawn) Marso, Jeff (Kim) Marso and sister-in-law Patti Petersen.
He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, Janet, Deanna, Chuck, Lori, Angie, Justin, Shad, Corey, McKayla, Nick, Jack, Jayce, Trent, Todd and Danny, along with his great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law Bob and Jackie Marso, brothers Gordy and Doug, brothers-in-law Jim Blaedorn and Pete Petersen and nephew Roy Miller.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Avera St. Mary’s in Pierre, the angels at the Helmsley Center, Pierre Hospice and all of Crow’s friends that have helped out and given support throughout this difficult time.
