PIERRE – Badlands knocked off the Pierre Trappers 10-7 at Hyde Stadium on Thursday, spoiling the Trappers’ debut of former Pierre Governor and Post 8 player Garrett Stout.
Stout started and pitched four innings, allowing five runs and just two hits, but also five walks. He struck out four. Trappers’ pitching allowed only five hits, but walked 13.
Andrew Coverdale was one-for-three in his second game with Pierre. Nick Grossman hit his sixth home run. Craig Kenny drove in two.
The Trappers will open a series with the Hastings Sodbusters at Hyde Stadium Friday night at 7:05.
