USA Team Olympians training for the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles, CA, are visiting schools in South Dakota this week, including Ipswich and Leola on Friday (Dec. 5, 2025).
Each athlete is part of Beef Logic’s Build Your Base comprehensive sports nutrition program. It focuses on beef as the premier protein to prepare athletes and their families for a successful sports season through ready-to-use materials, best-in-class sports nutrition education, and high-quality protein to support optimal performance.
Scheduled to appear are:
- Chris Nilsen: U.S. Olympic Pole Vaulter, American Indoor Record Holder, multiple medals
- DeAnna Price: U.S. Olympic Hammer Thrower, 6X Hammer American Record, 2X Weight Throw World Record, multiple medals
Nilsen and Price will be sharing their journey to becoming an Olympic athlete, highlighting the Build Your Base program and discussing the importance of having a high-quality protein like beef as part of their training and healthy lifestyle.
Athletes will be visiting the following schools:
- Wednesday, December 3
- Dakota Wesleyan – Sherman Center – 6:30 p.m.
- Thursday, December 4
- Wessington Springs – 9:00 a.m.
- Northwestern – 2:30 p.m.
- Friday, December 5
- Ipswich – 9:00 a.m.
- Leola – 10:30 a.m.
- Northern State – Barnett Center/Kessler’s Championship Club Room – 3:00 p.m.
The Build Your Base program strives to ensure student-athletes are hydrated, replenished, and live a healthy lifestyle, and is supported by the South Dakota Beef Industry Council, Sanford Health, and multiple other stakeholders.
