Gladys Schilling, 86, Akaska, SD, died Good Friday, April 3, 2026 after a brief stay in hospice at the Bowdle Nursing Home.

She is survived by Wilton “Hooch” her husband of 66 years; three sons—Jon (Kay) Schilling of Neligh, NE, David (Karen) Schilling of Bruce, SD, and Matthew (Billi) Schilling of Harker Heights, TX; two daughters—Debra (Jeffrey) Ristow of Sheboygan, WI and Lorie (Chris) Brown of Rapid City, SD; one brother, Lonnie Fleck of Fort St. John, BC, Canada; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Akaska, led by Rev. Tony Hansen. Interment follows at the Akaska Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Lien Funeral Home, Bowdle, from 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday.
