The Pierre-Fort Pierre Kiwanis Club recently awarded nearly $9,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors at Pierre Riggs High School.
Charlotte Hull, Emery Larson and Courtney Potter each won two awards. They were each awarded $500 Kiwanis University Scholarships. Potter won a $1,000 Mel Wall Memorial Scholarship, Larson won a $1,000 Don London Memorial/Perkins Scholarship, and Hull received the $300 Fellowship of Christian Athletes Scholarship.
Carson Glodt also received a $1,000 Wall Scholarship. Samuel Skjonsberg won the $1,000 Colleen Weiss Memorial Teachers Scholarship, and Bridger Babcock earned the $500 Jim Valnes Memorial Scholarship.
Other $500 University Scholarship winners included Presley Spies, Alex Oedekoven, Grace Fischer and Katheryn Hostler. Amara Dell won a $500 Kiwanis Vocational Scholarship.
“We are pleased to be able to award these scholarships,” said Kevin Larsen, Kiwanis Scholarship Committee Chair. “We wish to thank the communities of Pierre and Fort Pierre for supporting our various fundraisers throughout the year that allow this to happen.”
Stanley County scholarship recipients will be awarded on May 11.
