Free fishing and free admission at state parks in South Dakota this weekend

This weekend (May 15-17, 2026) is free fishing weekend in South Dakota.

South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks Conservation Officer Don Allaway says no license is required to go fishing in South Dakota this weekend.

Allaway says free fishing weekend also includes free entry into state parks, but people must still pay for camping.

Allaway says fishing species and daily possession limits, as well as all other fishing and boating regulations still apply.
