Ten elementary school students from the Boys & Girls Club of the Capital Area and the Stanley County Gold program have new bicycles (May 18, 2026) to enjoy this summer thanks to a memorial created to honor a long-time supporter of the Club.
The Pfrimmer Pedal Promise gifts the bicycles to Club members in need as a way to honor long-time Club supporter Dennie Pfrimmer. The selected youth each got to pick out their own bicycle, helmet and a bike lock.
Pfrimmer was the CEO at Capital Area Counseling Service when they took over management of the daily operations at the Boys & Girls Club of the Capital Area. After retiring in 2020, Pfrimmer began purchasing bicycles and gifting them to Club members so they could be active outside during the summer.
Before he died in September 2024 (Sept. 4, 2024), Pfrimmer asked that his tradition of gifting bicycles to kids continue even after the Club became it’s own operating identity again— which happened just before he passed away. To honor Pfrimmer’s request, his wife, Cheryl Stone, and her brother Clark provided the money to kick-off the Pfrimmer Pedal Promise program.
In 2025, seven youth were gifted bicycles.
