One of the better rivalries in the Independence Baseball League has been between the Oahe Zap and the Spearfish Sasquatch. And tonight, the two face off at the first time in Hyde Stadium since their thrilling Championship Series a year ago.
The Zap return 12 notable names from that dream run they went on from worst to first in 2025, while the Sasquatch have a new manager at the helm. This series between these two always seems to carry a little bit of drama, as it should considering both are expected to meet again in the championship at the end of the summer season.
Not only are the Zap returning a handful of players from prior seasons, but they also feature a hometown kid Ridge Leimbach who went five innings in his debut and earned the win in his last home outing.
Both teams have seen explosive offense to start the year, and the Zap are coming off of an exciting win in their last game at Hyde when they beat the Casper Spuds 8-5. The Zap will look to protect their diamond dirt once again kicking off this three game weekend series with the Sasquatch at 6:05 PM CT.
