Coming off a doubleheader sweep of Post 15 East Legion, Post 8 looked to continue their momentum after a slow start to the season as they hosted Brandon Valley for two on Monday night. The slow start saw four straight losses, but with a strong offensive lineup and strong pitching they have seemed to settle into this summer season.
Brandon Valley took game one of the doubleheader on Monday 4-2 after a four-run third inning put Post 8 behind the 8-ball. They would begin to mount a comeback in the final frame, scoring two runs, but would not complete the full bounce back and running out of outs. However, they would carryover the offensive production into game two to achieve the split.
Post 8 Legion put together a three-run 3rd inning that would prove to be the deciding frame of the game. Carter Schiefelbein and Hudson Stoeser singles would boost Post 8 ahead to a 3-2 victory, with Carter Templeton picking up the win on the mound.
Legion continues with a busy week of baseball Wednesday night heading to Bismarck for a doubleheader before the Dakota Classic over the weekend which will be played Friday-Sunday.
