Fort Pierre and the Stanley County Fairgrounds are hosting the 77th annual South Dakota High School Finals Rodeo this week (June 16-20, 2026), with performances continuing through Saturday.
High School Rodeo Association Public Relations Director Marty Philips says events start Tuesday (June 16) with the first rounds of the Rodeo Queen contest and the girls cutting, boys cutting and reined cow horse competitions. He says the second go of reined cow horse and cutting happen Wednesday morning.
Association Secretary-Treasurer Amy Johnson says people can purchase admission passes for individual performances or for the entire event.
South Dakota High School Finals Rodeo champions will receive awards ranging from belt buckles to saddles. They’ll also get a spot on the state’s team at the National High School Finals Rodeo next month (July 19-25, 2026) in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The South Dakota High School Finals Rodeo will be held at the Stanley County Fairgrounds in Fort Pierre through 2027.
