A Pierre family is raffling off two custom made fishing rods to raise money to help the Make-A-Wish organization send a family on a memorable trip like they were able to take before their son passed away nine years ago.
Darci Bible says the Bible-Propst family created “Wish Upon a Rod,” a fundraising raffle with every dollar benefiting Make-A-Wish South Dakota & Montana in honor of Hunter Propst.
Bible says Hunter and his grandfather, Bob Propst Sr., loved fishing so raffling off custom-made fishing rods made sense.
Raffle tickets are $20 each, only 600 will be sold and the deadline is the Governor’s Cup Fishing Tournament Rules meeting being held Friday, July 17, 2026, in Pierre. The two winners will be drawn, each receiving one of the hand-crafted fishing rods, on July 19 prior to the fishing tournament’s awards presentations. Ticket holders do not have to be present to win.
Bible says every ticket purchased is not only an entry into a raffle, but also a chance to help create memories for another Make-A-Wish child and family. She says they hope Hunter’s story inspires others to be part of that.
