South Dakota Junior Achievement has been honored by Associated School Boards of South Dakota (ASBSD) for its service with the 2026 School Bell Award.
The ASBSD School Bell Award honors individuals or organizations who have served South Dakota public education in an exemplary fashion.
For many years, Junior Achievement of South Dakota has been committed to giving students opportunity-filled futures by helping them become confident, capable, competent, and connected to what the world has to offer.
Junior Achievement’s learning experiences promote skills and competencies students need to take advantage of economic opportunity and achieve economic mobility by providing lessons in financial literacy, work and career readiness, and entrepreneurship. These skills are shown to positively impact the lives of young people.
“With chapters across the state, Junior Achievement of South Dakota has inspired and helped prepare thousands of young people in this state to succeed in a global economy,” ASBSD Executive Director Heath Larson said.
“The commitment by this organization and its many volunteers, which has included school board members, administrators and staff members, has had a lasting impact on public schools in South Dakota.”
ASBSD is a private, non-profit association representing around 850 South Dakota school board members, the 147 school districts they govern and the students they serve.
