It’s being called a,”senseless act of destruction that is completly unacceptable.”
That’s what officials at Hartford Beach State Park east of Wilmot posted on social media after toilets at the park’s Day Use Comfort Station were destroyed over the weekend (Aug. 22-23, 2026).
Due to the vandalism, that facility will remain locked until further notice.
Anyone with information on this criminal activity is asked to call 605-881-3773. The Game, Fish and Parks Department is investigating.
