The Pierre City Commission has approved (Aug. 25, 2026) a memorandum of understanding with a company wanting to redevelop the area where the Edgewater Apartment building burned down 5.5 years ago (Jan. 14, 2021).
Quinn Reimers with Colliers Securities said W-H Prairie Bluff Apartments, LLC is looking to build a 29 unit, affordable housing apartment building.
Reimers said the approved MOU is the first step toward redevelopment of the area.
Reimers said getting the Low Income Tax Credits is critical for the project.
The current plan is for the new apartment building to be three stories. It could include amenities such as video surveillance, modern in-unit appliances, a community room, controlled access and on-site management.
W-H Prairie Bluffs Apartments, LLC is a Nebraska-based developer.
