Pierre versus Yankton start time pushed back due to heat

Hot and muggy weather expected in Yankton Friday has initiated a time change for kickoff between the rivals. Originally scheduled for 7:00 PM CT, they have opted to push it back a full hour to 8:00 PM CT. Coverage will begin with Brian Oakland at 7:25 PM on River 92.7 and will be streamed live on www.DRGnews.com/River/. A full statement from the school listed below:

Due to the Extremely HOT & MUGGY forecasted conditions that we are expecting to see in the area later this week on Thursday, September 3 & Friday, September 4, please note the following changes to Yankton High School Activities:

Friday, September 4:

  • The Yankton HS Varsity Football Game vs. Pierre that was originally scheduled to start at 7:00 PM at Crane-Youngworth Field in Yankton, has been pushed back ONE hour later, starting at 8:00 PM instead.  Gates at Crane-Youngworth Field will now open at 6:30 PM on Friday, September 4. 

 

Unrelated to the heat, one additional scheduling change to announce for NEXT WEEK:

  • The Yankton vs. Vermillion JV & MS Girls Tennis Dual that was scheduled for Thursday, September 10 in Vermillion at 4:00 PM has been moved to Yankton due to a scheduling conflict on the tennis courts in Vermillion.  Start time in Yankton will be 4:00 PM on Thursday, September 10, same as originally scheduled.
