The family moved back to South Dakota and farmed in the Castlewood area for 25 years. Lillian later worked for the Estelline Journal newspaper and Midtex/Mid-Com in Watertown for 27 years. After retiring in 1999, she worked in food service at Lincoln School in Watertown.
Lillian was a member of the United Methodist Church and Adah Circle in Watertown, SD. She once again put her skills to work by serving as secretary of the Adah Circle.
Lillian loved playing pinochle, dice, and any games her grandchildren wanted to play.
