Second-Half Property and Mobile Home Tax Payment Due; Voter Registration Draws Near

The Hughes County Finance Office reminds taxpayers that the second half of 2025 property taxes and mobile home taxes payable in 2026 are due by the close of business on Friday, October 30, 2026, or, if mailed, postmarked no later than Saturday, October 31, 2026.

Taxpayers may also visit HughesCounty.org to pay their taxes online. A convenience fee applies to online payments.

Please plan ahead to ensure your payment is made or postmarked by the deadline.

They also remind residents that the voter registration deadline for the November 3, 2026 General Election is Monday, October 19, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Failure to register by this date will cause forfeiture of voting rights for this election.

If you are in doubt about whether you are registered, check the Voter Information Portal at www.sdsos.gov or call the Hughes County Finance Office at 605-773-7451.
