VERMILLION – Lincoln Kienholz passed for three touchdowns and ran for another Friday as Pierre won its fourth consecutive 11AA football championship, 38-6 over previously unbeaten Brookings at the DakotaDome.
Kienholz was 10 of 19 for 151 yards. Maguire Raske rushed for 164 yards and a touchdown for Pierre (9-2), who held Brookings (11-1) to 182 yards of offense, more than 200 under their average. Josh Buri rushed for 122 yards and the Bobcats’ lone touchdown.
Pierre is the second school to win at least four consecutive titles since the SDHSAA sanctioned football championships for the 1981 season. West Central won six straight 11A titles from 2000-2005.
