Patsy Beitelspacher-Kenagy, 70 of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021 at her home.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Christ Lutheran Church, Lebanon, with Pastor David Otten officiating. Burial will follow in the Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon. All are welcome to attend but for those that are unable to attend, a recording of the service will be available after the funeral. For those that are able to attend, the wearing of masks will be recommended.
Patsy Joan Beitelspacher was born June 2, 1950 at Holy Infant Hospital in Hoven, SD to Eugene C. and Shirley (Maroney) Beitelspacher of Lowry, SD. She was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Lebanon. Patsy attended Lowry elementary school, and graduated from Selby High School.
Following high school, Patsy moved to Mobridge, SD for a short time before moving to Fargo, ND. She worked in a factor there where she met her future husband, Ronald Gaarder. They were married and welcomed two children, Amanda and Travis.
After her and Ronald’s divorce, Patsy moved to Nebraska. She managed the VFW in Minatare, NE for several years before starting with a road construction crew as a roller operator. During this, she married Dale Kenagy.
In 2000, following the death of her father, Patsy returned to Selby, SD. She was employed as a waitress for the Roscoe Café and worked 10+ years for the Prairie Stop in Hoven. In 2017, she moved to Lebanon where she resided until the time of her passing.
Patsy is survived by her daughter, Amanda Gaarder and her children, George and Alexia Berny of Sun Tan Valley, AZ; a son Travis Gaarder of Apache Junction, AZ; mother, Shirley Beitelspacher, Selby; brothers: Charles (Lesli) Beitelspacher of California and Mobile, AL and Dale K. Beitelspacher of Vancouver, WA; sisters: Peggy (John) Minnicle and Phyliss Beitelspacher, all of Pierre; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene C. Beitelspacher; sisters: Pamela K. Beitelspacher and Paulette M. Beitelspacher-Johnson; brother, Darrell Beitelspacher; paternal grandparents: Ferdenand and Karoline (Haux) Beitelspacher; maternal grandparents, Farrell and Viola M. (Walker) Maroney.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Patsy’s arrangements.
