PIERRE – Seedings have been announced for the dual wrestling tournaments at the SDHSAA State Wrestling Championship.
In Class A, Brandon Valley is the top seed and will face eighth seed Tea Area in the first round on Thursday, February 25. Second-seed Rapid City Stevens, last year’s champion, will wrestle seventh-seed Chamberlain. Number three seed Watertown will battle Harrisburg and fourth-seed Mitchell will meet number five Pierre.
Winner, last year’s Class B runner-up, is the top seed and will face eighth seed Lyman. Canton, the 2020 champion and number two seed, will wrestle number seven Howard. Third seed Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes will battle number six Wessington Springs/Woonsocket/Wolsey-Wessington. Fourth seed McCook Central/Montrose will meet fifth seed Redfield Area.
This year’s state wrestling tournament will be at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City, with Class A matches in the Ice Arena and Class B in Barnett Arena.
