Margaret Ann Mexican Little Shield, 52, of Cherry Creek, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at her home in Cherry Creek, SD.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. MST, Friday, March 12, 2021, at the Cherry Creek Blue Gym, Cherry Creek, SD. Burial will follow in the Congregational Cemetery, Cherry Creek. Wake services will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 11, 2021, at the gym. A procession will start at the 2-mile east of town at 4:00 p.m.
Margaret Ann Mexican was born August 3, 1968 in Cherry Creek, SD to Johnny and Evelyn (Low Dog) Mexican. She attended school at Cherry Creek Day School.
Margaret married Theodore Little Shield in 2003. They resided in Pierre, then moved to Rapid City before returning to Eagle Butte. Shortly after, they moved to Cherry Creek. They lived there until her passing, one month after her husband died.
Margaret had the nickname “Monkey”, which she received when she was a child. She got the name because she loved to climb trees. She will be remembered for her love of laughing, visiting, her grandchildren, and all people. She was always busy, never liking to sit still.
Margaret is survived by her children: Evelyn Mexican Glenn “Evie”, Randy, Randall, Tiffany, Theodore Jr., Rachel, and Tabitha Little Shield; sisters: Margie Mexican, Sharon Tuttle, and Darlene Dupris; brothers: Steven Mexican, Daniel Mexican, and Persiville Mexican; grandchildren: K’Slyne and Wallace Little Shield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Theodore Little Shield Sr.; son, Tyson Little Shield; daughter, Josie Mexican Long Wolf; grandson, Niles Ray Little Shield; brothers: Marvel and Mario Mexican; and her sister, Melita Mexican.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Margaret’s arrangements.
