Todd Michael Mahoney, 54, of Pierre, South Dakota, passed away on March 20th, 2021 after a battle with an illness. There will be a visitation Thursday, March 25th, 2021 from 12-7pm with family being present from 5pm-7pm at Feigum Funeral home in Pierre, SD. **Masks required for attendance** Funeral service will be 2 pm, March 26th, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Pierre, SD with a reception to follow **Masks strongly suggested**
Todd was born on June 7, 1966 to Mary (Hohn) and Michael Mahoney in Denver, Colorado. After graduating from Parker High School in 1984, he went on to study electronics at Southeast Technical Institute.
He enlisted into the Army National Guards in 1983 and served until 1998. Todd obtained employment with the State of South Dakota working for BIT and enjoyed working with his immediate coworkers as well as all other departments. In 1992, he met Michelle Jensen, and they wed in 1995, going on to have 2 children, Soren Michael Mahoney and Lily Marie Mahoney.
Todd was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of Soren, Lily, and Michelle and always tried his best to support them. Anyone who knew Todd knew that he was the most loving father, son and husband a family could ask for.
He was also a passionate singer and carpenter and could often be found playing volleyball, bowling or darts when he wasn’t at home. Todd also earned his black belt in Taekwondo and felt honored to teach others that skill.
He is survived by his wife Michelle, 2 children Soren and Lily, mother Mary (Hohn) Mahoney, 3 siblings Kevin Mahoney (Moon), Lee Mahoney (Beverly) and Korena Chester (Terry). Also survived by Michelle’s siblings Melissa Ihnen (Robert), Susan Barnett, and Michael Jensen (Joann). Todd was also blessed with several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
Todd was predeceased by his father Michael Mahoney and father in law Oren Jensen.
The family wants to thank everyone for the out pouring support and love they have received from family, friends, coworkers and others who knew Todd.
