Applications are now open for broadband expansion projects in South Dakota.
The legislature approved a $100 million investment in expanding high speed service.
Greg Dean with the South Dakota Telecommunication Association says many of their member cooperatives are interested in the program.
Dean says this could be a landmark moment.
Dean says the program uses $25 million in federal dollars to kick start the expansion.
Some projects, using federal dollars, have to be done this year. Dean says the full expansion could take three to five years.
