Pierre Post 8 stole the lead late and defeated Watertown Post 17, 4-1 yesterday (June 9).
The game was tied at one with Pierre Post 8 batting in the bottom of the fifth when Jayden Wiebe singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.
Isaac Polak was credited with the victory for Post 8. The pitcher went six innings, allowing one run on six hits, striking out four and walking one. Lincoln Kienholz threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Kienholz recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Post 8.
Jerod Cyrus took the loss for Watertown. Cyrus lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and four runs while striking out eight and walking one. Kale Stevenson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Watertown Post 17 in hits.
Wiebe led Pierre with two hits in three at bats.
