After graduating from American Indian Arts Institute him & his sister Valerie both attended college in the Black Hills. He also attended college in Bismarck North Dakota where he got his accounting degree.
After his first born son Juan Whiteeagle was born, he met Diane Dogskin and a year later Kyle James was born and not too long after Julius Jordan. Him and Diane were proud of their boys, they enjoyed watching them grow & run around the house. He loved his little family so that’s why he worked so hard but he unexpectedly lost Diane in 1996. He was heartbroken, he started to raise his boys without their mother.
Sometime after he dated Cheryl Rainbow (Standish), after 5 years they decided to get married. They stayed together for a total of 16 years before they divorced. They still remained friends and went on with life. He worked at Prairie Knights Casino for almost 8 years then after he worked for Standing Rock Housing until he retired. Lyle was very talented, hardworking, soft spoken & fluent in Lakota. He loved to paint & draw, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, bonding with anyone who had an interest in art like him, watching basketball, football & baseball games, loved to play pool, chess & can’t forget he loved to gamble at the casino especially after he retired. He spent his days enjoying his artwork, and teaching his granddaughter Deshawn our language; he would call her “Wo” (short for Wo Blecha meaning “into everything” because every time his door came open she was in there digging around.
Lyle lived a long life, enjoyed it & made the most out of it but after losing 3 of his sons he made his journey to the stars 22 days after his youngest son died. He loved his sons and missed them dearly, he died of a broken heart but they are all together now; Diane, Juan, Kyle, Julius & Lyle.

He is preceded in death by his three sons, Diane, parents, sister, Cheryl Crow Necklace, brothers, Victor Brave Thunder, Aaron Agard, Ronnie Noisy Hawk, and best friend, Joe “Rusty” Crow Ghost.
