GRAND FORKS, ND – Nick Strong and Garret Hill each doubled and drove in two runs Sunday as the Pierre Trappers stopped the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks 7-3 at Kraft Field in the final game before the Expedition League’s All-Star break.
Strong hit his two-run double and Hill followed with an RBI double to snap a 1-1 tie in the top of the third and give the Trappers (14-32) a lead they would not relinquish.
Brandt Sundeen (1-3) struck out nine in seven innings while allowing three runs and six hits.
The Expedition League All-Star Game will be played Tuesday at Mike Lansing Field in Casper, Wyoming. The Trappers will next play Thursday against the Mining City Tommyknockers in Butte, Montana.
