Joseph T. Martinmaas was born December 14, 1937 in Faulkton, SD to Henry and Elizabeth (Eggerling) Martinmaas. He took over the family farm at a young age when his father passed away in 1959.
Joe devoted care to his mother for 30 years. His dedication to her was undeniably one of the most heart-warming expressions of love a son could show.
Joe had an unwavering love for the farm, his angus cattle, and in later years driving around in his new pickups. He took pride in his care of the original homestead. Joe was also a faithful servant to St. Liborius Catholic Church where he was a lifelong member and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.
Joe is survived by his sister, Mary Lee Keelin of Aberdeen and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Max and Bill Martinmaas; and sisters: Loyola Curtis and Vivian Meyer.
Memorials may be directed to Knights of Columbus, 35426 186th St., Miller, SD 57362 or Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Liborius Church, 17985 354th Ave., Orient, SD 57467.
