Augustana To Add Women’s Lacrosse

SIOUX FALLS – Collegiate lacrosse is coming to South Dakota.

Augustana announced Tuesday that women’s lacrosse will be added in the 2023-24 academic year at the Division II level.

Nine new programs have been added in Division II since January 2020. 114 teams currently compete in Division II and 524 compete in all three NCAA Divisions.

The program’s addition keeps Augustana in compliance with Title IX. The school announced in June that it will start a Division I men’s hockey program.
