PIERRE – Pierre Governor Soccer earned a win and a draw in varsity matches Saturday against Sioux Falls Jefferson at the PILC Soccer Complex.
Avery Davis scored her seventh goal of the season in the 17th minute as the Pierre girls edged Jefferson 1-0. Pierre improved to 8-3-1.
Rylan Derry converted a penalty kick in the 79th minute to give the Pierre boys a 1-1 draw with Jefferson. Devon Flottmeyer made a run down the left wing when he was fouled in the box to set up Derry’s equalizer. This draw likely assures Pierre (6-4-2) of a home match in the first round of the AA playoffs.
Both teams will end the regular season against Huron Tuesday at the PILC Soccer Complex, with the boys varsity playing at 4:00 and the girls at 6:00. The matches can be seen at the River 92.7 page at the DRG News app and drgnews.com.
