Pierre Governor Cross Country runners Blake Judson and Hayden Shaffer have been named to the South Dakota Cross Country Track & Field Coaches Association Academic All-State Team.
To qualify for the team, an athlete must be a senior, have participated in cross country for three years, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 and be nominated by their head coach.
Shaffer was fifth in the recent AA state cross country meet, leading Pierre to a fourth-place finish, the Governors’ best finish as a team since 2008. Lutmer was 14th.
