The Pierre/Fort Pierre Area Community Foundation is a permanent endowment with the South Dakota Community Foundation and is managed by a local board of directors. The fund has given back nearly $400,000 to nonprofit organizations and programs in the local area. Donations to the Pierre/Fort Pierre Community Foundation can be made by sending a check to the South Dakota Community Foundation and specifying the donation is for the local foundation.
